# Assessments and quizzes

> Create quizzes and assessment content for a course.

## Purpose

Use assessments to check learner knowledge and record required outcomes.

## Create a quiz

1. Open the course.
2. Select the course assessment or quiz area.
3. Select **Create quiz**.
4. Enter the quiz title and instructions.
5. Set the passing score, attempt limit, and time limit when required.
6. Add questions and answer options.
7. Save the quiz.

## Add a quiz to the curriculum

Place the quiz at the course, chapter, or lesson level. Set the required status and position.

## Result

The quiz is available in the course curriculum. Learners receive it after the course is published and assigned or enrolled.
