# Checkout and payments

> Understand public course checkout and payment processing.

## Purpose

Use checkout to sell one-time public course access.

## Learner procedure

1. Open a public course page.
2. Review the course price.
3. Sign in when required.
4. Select the purchase action.
5. Complete the secure Stripe checkout procedure.
6. Return to ScaleApp Education.

## Result

ScaleApp Education confirms the payment and creates learner access after the payment succeeds.

## Payment processing

Payment confirmation can take a short time. Tell learners to refresh the course or **Learning** page if confirmation is still in progress.
