# General settings

> Set the organization name, locale, time zone, and legal details.

## Purpose

Use general settings to define the organization information that ScaleApp Education uses across the workspace.

## Prerequisites

* You are an organization administrator.
* You opened the correct workspace.

## Procedure

1. Open **Workspace**.
2. Select **Settings**.
3. Select **General**.
4. Enter the legal name and display name.
5. Set the default locale.
6. Set the organization time zone.
7. Add the registration number and tax identifier when required.
8. Select **Save changes**.

## Result

The workspace uses the saved organization information in its administration and communication views.

  Use an IANA time zone, such as `Europe/Stockholm`. Do not use an abbreviated time zone such as `CET`.
